Zheng Pengjun holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton (UK) and is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and "Baoyulong" Leading Professor at Ningbo University. He serves as the Director of the "111 Program" Innovation Base for the Safety and Intelligent Operation of Cross-Sea Bridges, Director of the Ningbo University Branch of the National Road Traffic Management Engineering Technology Research Center, and Member of the Navigation Technology Subcommittee of the Higher Education Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. He is also a Council Member of the China Institute of Navigation, an expert in the Ministry of Transport's Water Transport Industry Expert Database, and a Navigation Safety Assessment Expert for the Ministry of Transport. Recognized as a First-Level Top Talented Leader in Ningbo, he leads the Master's program in Transportation Engineering and the Doctoral program in Fishery Facilities and Equipment.
His research focuses on intelligent transportation systems, navigation safety and environment, connected and autonomous vehicles, and unmanned driving systems. He has led over 100 major research projects, including:
