主讲人简介:

Dr. Zhang Chi is a Senior Scientist at the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine Singapore (TCOMS), specializing in the dynamic responses of large floating platforms and complex multibody floating systems. His research leverages a Cyber-physical approach, seamlessly integrating physics-based modelling, physical model testing, and numerical simulations. He is a key contributor in TCOMS in the development of innovative solutions for marine renewable energy technologies, including floating tidal, wind, and solar systems, including using digital twin technology. As a key contributor, he and the team were awarded the Prestigious Achievement Award for the development of digital twin of Self elevated unit by the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.

Dr. Zhang has demonstrated strong leadership by serving as the Principal Investigator for multiple international and Singapore R&D programs. He also manages and provides technical support for industry projects as Project Manager, supporting the key stakeholders in Singapore and international marine and offshore sectors.

Dr. Zhang is an active member of the academic community, serving as a reviewer for prestigious international journals (e.g., Marine Structures and Ocean Engineering) and as a scientific committee member for international conferences (e.g., OTC Asia, WCFS). He is also a Council member of the Society of Floating Solutions (Singapore).

报告内容简介:

Offshore renewable energy offers promising solutions for sustainable power generation. There are growing interests in floating wind turbines, floating tidal energy converters, and floating solar systems. The success of these systems depends on the reliable performance of their floating platforms in complex ocean environments.

This seminar presents recent research at the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine Singapore (TCOMS) on the dynamics of floating platforms for offshore renewable energy. The talk will highlight recent physical model tests, numerical simulations, and key findings that support the safe and efficient deployment of floating marine renewable energy platforms.
